What We Believe

At Harvest Baptist Church, our beliefs are rooted in Scripture and center on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Below is a summary of the core truths we hold. To download our complete statement of faith, click here.

The Bible

We believe the Old and New Testament Scriptures are the inerrant, infallible Word of God and the final authority for faith and life. At Harvest, we use the King James Version in teaching and preaching.

God

We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus is the eternal Son of God who became fully man while remaining fully God. Born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, died on the cross to pay the price for our sins, and rose again literally and physically from the dead.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is a person whose work includes convicting the world of sin and righteousness, indwelling and sealing believers, and guiding them in the truth of Scripture. We believe the miraculous sign gifts, such as speaking in tongues and healing, were temporary and are no longer in operation today.

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Anyone who turns to Christ in faith is forgiven, made new, and eternally secure in Him.

The Ordinances

We believe Christ gave the church two ordinances to observe until His return:

Baptism

Baptism by immersion is an act of obedience that publicly identifies a believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

The Lord’s Supper

The Lord’s Supper is a time for the church family to remember Christ’s sacrifice and to examine our personal walk with Him.

Future Events

We believe in the “blessed hope”—the personal, imminent return of Christ to rapture His church before the seven-year tribulation. At the end of the tribulation, Christ will return visibly with His saints to establish His promised Messianic Kingdom on earth.
